DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

Just a friendly reminder…daylight saving time officially begins this weekend on Sunday, March 9. Remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed on Saturday. This is also a good weekend to check the batteries in your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors. The idea of daylight saving was first conceived by Benjamin Franklin while serving as an American delegate in Paris. Daylight saving time has been used in the U.S. and many European nations since World War I. It was officially adopted in the U.S. in 1918, and was made consistent through the adoption of the Uniform Time Act of 1966.

SERVICE

There will be a service for Gladys Kloskie, incorporated with the regular Sunday service, on March 16, at 10:30 am.

It will be at Jacob’s Lutheran Church, 316 Sudeberg Rd., Pine Grove.  Pastor Barry also mentioned that after the service there will be a luncheon and all are welcome.
